How UFC Competitor Maycee Barber Handles the EMF Radiation Threat

Across the globe, individuals from all backgrounds and industries have become interested in the potential effects of electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation. One of these, UFC fighter Maycee Barber, took protecting herself to another level by partnering with Aires Tech as a part of a larger UFC partnership with the company.

According to Barber, maintaining her health, wellness, and recovery proves vital to her life and career. When the flyweight martial artist became concerned about EMF radiation from the many electronic gadgets in use around her, she explored options to combat potential harm.

What Science Says About Radiation Protection

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), three methods of protection keep a person safe from EMF radiation:

  • Time, reducing the time spent using electronic devices
  • Distance, increasing the distance of an electronic device from oneself
  • Shielding, erecting a barrier between the electronic device and oneself.

Many organizations advocate using cell phones less frequently and charging them in a separate room from where a person sleeps. Shielding complicates using a device because most methods, such as Faraday bags, block the use of it.

Developing New Methods of Shielding

Instead of avoiding electronics, Barber looked for, and found, an option called a coherent converter, a device that converts non-coherent EMF radiation to a coherent form that does not harm humans or animals, according to a scientific white paper published in Patent Scope. She wears a coherent converter as a charm on her necklace alongside a puzzle piece charm. The device takes up little space but does a lot of work.

The mixed martial artist, who studied karate and jiu-jitsu, realized that most people couldn’t test the efficacy of the device, but she could. As a UFC competitor, she undergoes many medical tests to ensure her health and well-being. One of those tests, a brain scan, provides a baseline for doctors for comparison if Barber incurs a concussion. With her baseline brain scan complete, she underwent a second brain scan while wearing her coherent converter to show its effects. Barber made both her brain scans public, providing them to the company that manufactured her coherent converter.

The fighter’s willingness to make public such personal health data provided a visual and easy-to-understand proof of work. Most scientific papers use a litany of terms known only to scientists, making her independent corroboration helpful to consumers. In a world replete with dodgy products, her honest appraisal of her coherent converter helps consumers put complex technology into everyday context.
